Garden City South Little League is now Garden City South-Franklin Square Athletic Association. It’s more than a name change.
After 2 years of Board Level debate and review, we have decided to join the Babe Ruth League for baseball and softball for 2017.
So, if you live in the communities of West Hempstead, Garden City South, and Franklin Square, or if your children go to Polk Street School, John Street School, Washington Street School, Carey, Willow Road School, Cornwell Ave School, George Washington School, St. Thomas The Apostle School, West Hempstead Middle School, West Hempstead High School or Valley Stream North High School, you are eligible for our league and to participate in the Babe Ruth Tournament.
We’re also maintaining our Little League Charter for all of our divisions and ages for softball and baseball. So if you reside within our Little League Boundaries or go to Washington Street or Carey you are eligible for Williamsport tournament play as well.
Maps of both our Babe Ruth League boundary (green border) and Little League boundary (blue border) are found below.
We’ve made this change to ensure that we have a vibrant and challenging league for your sons and daughters to participate in. As we expand and grow into the future, we will reinvest in ourselves through expanded winter clinics, coaching clinics, summer and fall ball. Who knows, under the umbrella of the Athletic Association we may also try and introduce new programs for our children (deck hockey anyone?)
First things first – we need your help. We need you to not only register your children but also spread the word to your neighbors that the Garden City South – Franklin Square Athletic Association has an eye on the future and is the place to be in 2017 and beyond.
Early registration ends 1.1.17 so if you register before then, you’ll save a few dollars on registration.
More to follow, and we’ll see you soon.
